Finch.

Founded by sixteen year old Mackenzie Jagger in 2018, FINCH the label was created out of a love for fashion & sleep.

“Sleep is a necessity, and FINCH sleepwear is a luxury. Inspired by my best friends, slumber parties, getaways & just lounging at home, FINCH sleepwear is made from the softest possible bamboo. Its high thread count makes the fabric drape beautifully & ensures full coverage. I started with “The Jane” collection in Blush, and have continued to expand my product line. The brand takes its name from a strong and resilient girl named Scout Finch, from my mom's favourite novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird”.

Lucid Candles

Our candles are hand-crafted and homemade right here in Vancouver, BC. All of the organic beeswax is harvested from our backyard hives, as well as various other local hives. We wanted to ensure that the bees are treated with TLC. The candles are also sustainable, as the ceramic bowls that hold them can be washed and re-purposed. Our movement is to support local bee hives and bee farmers, while raising awareness on the importance of bees for the Earth.

Nutmeg and Co

My name is Virginia Spencer, and I am the 16-year-old entrepreneur, founder, and creator behind Nutmeg & Co, a small online business that sells toys for dogs and cats that are made by myself. At Nutmeg & Co, it is important that all of my items are hand-made with eco-friendly materials and sales benefit shelter animals in need. I donate 10% of all profits to VOKRA, a local cat rescue that raises orphaned and abandoned cats and kittens in the Greater Vancouver area. Since my shop opened in September of 2018, I have sold thousands of toys to customers in more than 25 countries across the world. My toys are sold on my online shop, but can also be found in pet stores and vet clinics across Canada and the United States.

Habit Attire

The Story

Habit was tasked with creating an up cycled fashion brand with a box of clothing donated by peers, from thrift stores, and the Winter Bazaar. We began designing, marketing, and constructing. We took apart pieces and sewed them together, added lines, details, and silhouettes to create a new look from old clothing. The inspiration for Habit came from an edgy spin on the preppy aesthetic seen in Orseund Iris and 90’s Versace and Chanel. We constructed our pieces with the 2020 modern individual in mind. We envisioned our brand for people who are looking for the details that set a piece, an outfit, and an attitude apart from everybody else.

Sunshine Scrunchies

Hey there! My name is Enna and this is my business, Sunshine Scrunchies. I kind of started my business by accident. Being in grade ten at the time, I was feeling immense stress as the leap from grade nine to ten was pretty drastic. I went from a cheerful girl to your typical stressed high school student. Let's just say, I wasn't doing so well with handling all the pressures all the while trying to balance hormones and puberty. This all led to me realizing I was required to work on myself mentally through some self-care activities. From watching an unhealthy amount of movies to doing a crazy amount of face masks, there was not enough entertainment or face masks that could help me. Soon, a new hobby was born. I began sewing scrunchies with any pieces of fabric I could find around my house while also cutting up old shirts, pillow cases, and sheets. As my sewing skills gradually became better, I started to make some for my friends because I didn't know what to do with all my new scrunchies! However, I soon ran out of materials to make them with. Seeing how I didn't have an income, I had no source of money to buy supplies so I had to start selling the scrunchies. Originally, I only sold them to my friends, as I had no intention of turning my stress-relieving hobby into something greater. However, my cousin urged me to do so and helped me set up an Instagram account for my scrunchies. As word spread, I slowly started gaining more followers and more girls at school (whom I didn't know) started reaching out to me, looking to buy scrunchies.
